5 Windows

5 color photos of the windows I reconstructed.These windows represent five elements— The sun, sea, fire, waves, and clouds, I am inspired by the Buddhist Philosophy of GODAI, which assorts five elements of the universe. I positioned those windows at different locations around Manhattan Island. Each window reflects an image of the Twin Towers, which I see as a symbol of dualism.Self and the Other, Light and Shadow, The Sun and me (its lit object), Photographic gaze and the Object, Photography and the Viewer, art and audience̶ a fundamental way that the world exists in a relation.

In those photos, the light that comes through the Twin Towers (which, I imagine, functions as a lens of a large camera box, that is, Manhattan Island) and bisects the windows, as images are reversed in the camera box.

5つの窓

再構築した窓のカラー写真5枚。これらの窓は、太陽、海、火、波、雲の5つの要素を表しており、宇宙の5つの要素をまとめた五代の仏教哲学に触発されています。これらの窓をマンハッタン島のさまざまな場所に配置しました。それぞれの窓には、二元論の象徴として私が見ているツインタワーのイメージが映し出されています。自己と他者、光と影、太陽と私 (その照らされた物体)、写真の視線と対象、写真と鑑賞者、芸術観客とは、世界が関係の中で存在する基本的な方法です。カメラボックス内とみなしたマンハッタン島の対岸に、二等分し反転した窓を設置し、レンズとみなしたタワーの間に落ちる夕陽で二つを繋いでいます。
